How are BAB members appointed?
Members of the Building Appeals Board (BAB) are appointed for a period of up to three years by the Governor-in-Council, on the Minister for Planning's recommendation.
Expressions of interest for BAB members are published on the Get On Board website when positions become available. For more information, please visit Get On Board website.
Members are drawn from building surveyors, architects, engineers, town planners, builders, lawyers and people experienced in insurance and compensation matters.
Matters are heard by panels of Board members. The Chairperson of the Board selects each panel based on its members' competencies and skillsets to be able to give the matter due consideration and ensure natural justice for all parties.
